About Our Centre

Restoring Lives. Rebuilding Futures. One Step at a Time.

Who We Are

Circle of Friends Upliftment Centre (CFUC) is a supported accommodation and reintegration centre located in the heart of the community. We provide a structured, safe, and dignified residential environment for adult men—predominantly young adults in their late teens, twenties, and thirties—who are on a journey of recovery from addiction, mental health challenges, and related life difficulties.

CFUC is a home with purpose: a place where structure, care, and human connection work together to help a young man rediscover who he is capable of becoming. Currently, 35 residents call CFUC home, with capacity to grow to 50 as resources allow.

Why This Work Matters in South Africa

South Africa is facing a growing and largely silent crisis of addiction and mental health difficulty, particularly among young people. The pressures of unemployment, poverty, trauma, and social disconnection have left a generation of young men especially vulnerable—often with nowhere structured to turn at the moment they need support most.

CFUC steps into that gap. By providing a caring, accountable environment at precisely the moment a young man is ready to make a change, we give that moment the best possible chance of becoming a permanent turning point—for him, for his family, and for his community.

Our Founders

The centre was founded and is led by community leaders Wasiem Parker and Yaseen De Villiers, who share a deep dedication to community development, health, and personal restoration.
